Respite

Our Respite Program AHRC Respite provides short-term care at some of AHRC's community residences, and at its freestanding respite home on the grounds of Flowerfield Gardens in Holtsville. Circumstances for which families may require respite services range from unexpected family crisis, to vacation plans for the family, to the evaluation of a person's skills for future community residence placement. The Saturday Recreation Respite Program, "Knickerbocker Rocks 2" began in early 2010, and supports two Saturday group activities a month for participants that have signed up.  Anyone interested in joining Knickerbocker Rocks 2 on Saturday should call Paula Huntley at 585-0100 x565 for more information.

The Respite program is open to participants who live with their families.
