BEHAVIORAL SPECIALIST (Westhampton Beach)
The Behavioral Specialist is responsible for the provision of
psychological services, including assessment and testing. The
Behavioral Specialist is responsible for developing,
implementing, or training staff to implement behavioral
strategies for the purpose of maximizing program adjustment.
Requirements: Master's degree in Psychology or related field
and 1 year experience working with adults who have
developmental disabilities.
CLIENT COORDINATOR (Bohemia)
Under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor, the
employee is responsible for the coordination and
documentation of program plans and for the follow-up on all
recommendations made by the interdisciplinary team. Position
requires participation in Annual and Semi-Annual meetings,
documenting monthly progress, and scheduling team
meetings. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and
interpersonal skills are necessary. Requirements: Minimum 4
year degree in health-related field and 1 year experience
working with adults who have developmental disabilities.
TEACHER AIDE - CHILDREN'S SERVICES
Job Description: Assists the classroom teacher working with
preschool age children to develop, maintain and or increase
skills in the areas of cognition, communication, motor,
socialization and self help. Follows a school calendar and a six
week summer program. Requirements: High School diploma
or GED. Good communication skills with a willingness and
aptitude for working with children who have special
needs.
HOUSEKEEPER (Shoreham Day Habilitation)
Maintains the Day Habilitation facility as a clean and orderly
environment. P/T position available.
GREENHOUSE WORKERS (Part Time)
AHRC's greenhouse, Flowerfield Gardens, has part-time
positions available. Located at 1210 Portion Road in Holtsville,
the greenhouse offers flexible hours and no experience
necessary. Knowledge of plants is helpful.
INSTRUCTOR - DAY HABILITATION
Job Description: Assist with the development and
implementation of goals for Day Habilitation participants.
Instructor is responsible for conducting activities in classroom
as well as community setting and for assisting participants
with daily living activities. Requirements: High School
Diploma or equivalency. Some experience with the MR/DD
population a plus.
DIRECT CARE COUNSELOR -
Job Description: Provides ongoing care and assistance to the
residents in a home setting by assisting in daily living activities
while promoting choice and integration within the community.
Requirements: High School diploma/GED and a valid NYS
driver's license.Some experience with MR/DD population
preferred. AMAP certification.
COMMUNITY INTEGRATION SPECIALISTS
These positions consist of 40 hrs. per week, daytime hours M
- F. Responsible for developing and supporting participants to
attain their chosen outcomes and planned activities. An
employee in this position will be called upon to drive the
program van on a regular basis as part of community
activities. The ideal candidate is energetic, responsible,
organized and flexible. Capable of applying good judgment in
a variety of settings.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have
clean NYS driver's license.

Responsibilities include providing vocational and habilitation
training within a Day Services program. Requirements: High
School diploma or equivalent. Must have clean NYS driver's
license.
NURSE (LPN) (Shoreham)
The Nurse provides the appropriate medical/nursing care
required to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled
population. This individual is responsible to review, coordinate,
and implement medical care for each participant. Their
responsibilities include administering medication, implementing
physician recommendations, documentation in the participants
charts, and other assigned duties. The Nurse is an integral
member of the interdisciplinary team.
Minimum Qualifications: New York State Registered
Professional Nursing License OR New York State Licensed
Practical Nurse License. Candidate must possess and maintain
a valid New York State Driver's License.
