ADULT DAY SERVICES

Behavior Intervention Specialist – Knickerbocker Day Hab., M-F 8am-3:30pm

Responsible for providing positive behavioral supports to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by designing interventions to prevent or limit challenging behaviors; candidates should have experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the devising, implementation, and /or monitoring of behavior support plans and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans.

A Masters Degree in a clinical or treatment field in Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, Special Education, or relatd Human Service field as approved by OPWDD or have a NYS license in Mental Health Counseling.

Program Coordinator - (Westhampton Beach – BLENDED) - Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:30

Under the supervision of the Program Administrator, this employee is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, reviewing program plans and/or module curriculums for individuals assigned to their caseload; Provides immediate intervention to program individuals as needed; Provides cafeteria monitoring, bus duty monitoring and coverage of all facets of the program.

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field and a minimum of one year experience with the population; must have good computer skills, writing skills and excellent organizational skills.

Community Integration Specialist - M-F, 8am -3:30pm

Responsible for developing and supporting participants to attain their chosen outcomes and planned activities. An employee in this position will be called upon to drive the program van on a regular basis as part of community activities. The ideal candidate is energetic, responsible, organized and flexible.

Vocational Instructor (Bohemia)Per Diem Positions Available

Under the supervision of the Program/Workshop Supervisor, an employee in this class is responsible for training and supervising individuals with Developmental Disabilities in a variety of vocational tasks while implementing their outcomes and goals; Provides ongoing supervision and training to an assigned group of individuals; Maintains production according to schedule and inform Supervisor whenever schedules cannot be met.; Trains and supervises individuals on the proper use and maintenance of equipment; Handles routine behavioral issues; Provides cafeteria monitoring, bus duty monitoring and coverage of vocational training sections.

FLOWERFIELD GARDENS GREENHOUSE

Flowerfield Gardens Greenhouse Worker (Holtsville)
Performs horticultural tasks and assists customers in the sales area.  As requested, performs related work; Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor-Greenhouse Manager, an employee in this class is responsible for performing a variety of horticultural tasks and for assisting in the sales area.
 
High school diploma or GED; Documentation of a current Mantoux tuberculosis test that is within 12 months of beginning employment and a second step PPD within three (3) weeks of beginning employment must be provided.

Nurse (Flexible Schedule) = 35 hrs.

Under the direction of the Supervising Nurse, the IRA Nurse provides the appropriate medical/nursing care required to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled population; performs work as requested; Review, coordinate, and implement medical care of each program individual.

NYS Registered Professional Nursing License, Candidate must possess a valid New York State Driver's License at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Instruct developmentally disabled individuals residing in a group home in Activities of Daily Living; Specific skills include personal hygiene and grooming, banking/budgeting, travel, household tasks, cooking, nutrition, laundry, and decision making.  Additional duties may include planning and implementing recreational activities and administering medications.

Part Time RN Charge – Shoreham, NY Saturday- Sunday 7am – 5:30pm (20 hours with Benefits)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting RN supervisors with on-site supervision of the weekend ICF staff nurses to assure all medical/nursing needs are addressed, availability to assess medical problems and advise on appropriate action, medication administration, in-service training in the area of nursing and health related issues.

Candidate must possess a current, valid NYS Registered Nursing License and a minimum of 2 years nursing experience. Experience with Developmentally/Intellectually Disabled population preferred.

Nurse

Shoreham, NY - Friday – Monday, 1:30pm-10pm = 32 hrs.

WHB Day Programs

Module Instructor - Westhampton Beach BLENDED | REACH, M-F 8am - 3:30pm = 35 hrs.

Training and supervising participants with Developmental Disabilities in classroom and workshop settings while implementing their outcomes and goals.
