1:1 Teacher Aide - Bohemia, NY, M-F, 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM

The 1:1 Teacher Aide is responsible for the following duties: Attends to the physical needs of the children; adheres to the Health Safety and sanitation policies, maintains a clean, safe and hygienic classroom; assists the teacher in implementing the education program;  Required to carry, transfer and position students as needed for feeding, toileting, diaper changing and positioning in adaptive equipment which entails bending, lifting and moving the students necessitating the use of proper body mechanics and transfer techniques, provides bus duty and playground supervision.

Graduate of an accredited high school GED, knowledge of general health, safety and sanitation policies; ability to work effectively and cooperatively

Art Teacher – Bohemia, NY, PART-TIME Contractor (4 days/week)

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, Education, a member of this class must possess the following: Ability to teach children through the modality of art, Ability to create programs according to students needs:  emotional, physical and social, Capable of adapting her/his approach to meet the physical and cognitive needs of the students, Awareness of goals and total program of the organization.

Under the supervision of the Program Administrator, this employee is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, reviewing program plans and/or module curriculums for individuals assigned to their caseload. 

Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field and a minimum of one year of experience working with the developmentally disabled

Physical Therapy Assistant – Westhampton Beach REACH. M-F, 8a-3:30pm.  

Instructs individuals in proper use of assistive devices; instructs individuals in performance of prescribed exercises; employs techniques which will improve and/or maintain range of motion, tolerance, strength and coordination.

Graduate of an accredited 2 year PTA program in accordance with New York State regulation. Current NYS License as a PTA. Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.

Behavior Intervention Specialist – Westhampton Beach REACH, M-F 8am-3:30pm

Responsible for providing positive behavioral supports to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by designing interventions to prevent or limit challenging behaviors; candidates should have experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the devising, implementation, and /or monitoring of behavior support plans and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans.

A Masters Degree in a clinical or treatment field in Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, Special Education, or relatd Human Service field as approved by OPWDD or have a NYS license in Mental Health Counseling.

Vocational Instructor - (Bohemia-Annex) – M-F, 8am-3:30pm | Per Diem

Under the supervision of the Program/Workshop Supervisor, an employee in this class is responsible for training and supervising individuals with Developmental Disabilities in a variety of vocational tasks while implementing their outcomes and goals; Provides ongoing supervision and training to an assigned group of individuals; Maintains production according to schedule and inform Supervisor whenever schedules cannot be met

Community Integration Specialist - (Lakeland, Knick, Bohemia) M-F, 8am -3:30pm. 

Responsible for developing and supporting participants to attain their chosen outcomes and planned activities. An employee in this position will be called upon to drive the program van on a regular basis as part of community activities. The ideal candidate is energetic, responsible, organized and flexible.
Module Instructor - Westhampton Beach REACH, M-F 8am - 3:30pm = 35 hrs.

Training and supervising participants with Developmental Disabilities in classroom and workshop settings while implementing their outcomes and goals.


Nurse (Flexible Schedule) = 35 hrs.

Under the direction of the Supervising Nurse, the IRA Nurse provides the appropriate medical/nursing care required to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled population; performs work as requested; Review, coordinate, and implement medical care of each program individual.

NYS Registered Professional Nursing License, Candidate must possess a valid New York State Driver's License at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
