DEPARTMENTAL POSITIONS

AcAccounts Receivable Bookkeeper (Bohemia) Part-Time = 20 hrs.

Under the direction of the Controller, CFO. Individual will perform a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality of client and Agency matters.

High School diploma or equivalency plus relevant experience. General computer skills required.

Medicaid Service Coordinator (2) - Monday-Friday = 35 hrs.

This position entails handling a caseload of 30+ people with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include writing, coordinating, and monitoring Individual Service Plans; advocating for and assuring linkages with community support services that are consistent with an individual's needs and wants; Must have knowledge of social service, medical, and educational resources in Suffolk County. Site visits are required.

Bachelors Degree in a Health or Human Service Field and one year experience working with people with a developmental disability or a case management position with another population, or MSW, or Masters Degree in Psychology or Human Service Field.

Secretary (2) – Westhampton Beach, M-F, 8AM – 4PM = 35 hrs.

Performs responsible and confidential work pertinent to all Westhampton Beach Adult Day Services; Performs related work as required. Performs secretarial and clerical duties and services required to fulfill mandates of our Programs.  Work involves confidential, complex, and varied tasks.  Computer literate and detail oriented; Excellent typing, communication and phone skills.  Comprehensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, terminology and equipment. Must have working knowledge (Intermediate to Advanced level) of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

High School diploma or GED; Prior experience as a secretary required. General computer skills required.

ADULT DAY SERVICES

Supported Work Job Coach (Intensive) – Bohemia, M-F 8AM – 3:30PM = 35 hrs

Provides community based supported employment and job development services for adults with developmental disabilities. Under the direct supervision of the Program Administrator of Placement Services, an employee in this class is responsible for providing supported employment and job development services for adults with developmental disabilities to assist them in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment, or volunteer experiences.

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years job coach experience with individuals with disabilities in a community setting.  Complete an OPWDD approved vocational rehabilitation or supported employment training program.  Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.   Two years experience developing voluntary or employment opportunities in the community.  Knowledge of social security benefits as it relates to employment.

Vocational Instructor (Specialty Area Mailroom) – Bohemia, M-F 8:00AM – 3:30PM = 35hrs.

Trains and supervises adults with Developmental Disabilities in the mail specialty area vocational setting. Under the supervision of the Program/Workshop Supervisor, an employee in this class is responsible for training and supervising participants with Developmental Disabilities in a variety of mail vocational tasks while implementing their outcomes and goals. This person is required to deliver mail to post office daily, using personal vehicle.

Community Integration Specialist Shoreham, Lakeland, Knickerbocker | Lakeland (Ability to speak in Creole preferred)

Shoreham – M-F, 8:00AM – 4:30PM = 40hrs.

Lakeland, Knickerbocker - M-F, 8AM - 3:30PM = 35 hrs.

Under the direct supervision of the Day Habilitation Supervisor, an employee of this class is responsible for assisting and training in the areas of communication, life skills, social behaviors, personal skills, health care, and promoting self reliance to the extent possible.

COMMUNITY RESIDENCES (IRA)

IRA Assistant DirectorM-F, 8:30AM – 4:30PM, On call during off shift hours as required.

Responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Community Residence Functional Program. Supervisory responsibilities in the areas of: public education, lead weekend direct support professional staff scheduling, resident admission and discharge, compliance with the rules and regulations for the operation of community residences and the daily operations of assigned community residences. In conjunction with the Program Director of Community Residences, recruit and interview candidates for employment.

Bachelor Degree in Special Education, Social Work or a related field.

House Manager – Coram (Harrison) M-F 40 hrs. (Flexible Schedule/includes some weekends and evenings/ On-call Responsibilities/ Not a live-in position)

Under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Program Director, an employee in this class manages the operation of an AHRC IRA; ensures that the health and well-being of the individuals is maintained, manages a household budget, supervision of relief staff and direct care staff, supervision of diets and nutritional needs of individuals, meal preparation, light housecleaning, record keeping, individual service plans, attending team meetings, family/community relations, ensures the scheduling of medical and dental appointments, coordination of leisure activities for the individuals, administration of medication in conformance with State regulations, trains and evaluates staff.

High School Diploma or GED and one year experience in working with the population; American Red Cross First Aid Training Certification and Fire Safety Training in an OPWDD approved course within the first three (3) months of employment.

Assistant House Manager Position

An employee in this class is responsible to assist the House Manager’s of the Westhampton ICF and Mount Sinai IRA over see each program. A flexible 32 hour work schedule is required which will include weekends and holidays. The Assistant House Manager will ensure that all needs of the individuals are met in the absence of the House Manager. Previous experience working in the field of intellectual disabilities is preferred.
