ADULT DAY SERVICES

Behavior Intervention Specialist

Westhampton Beach, M-F (Full Time) 8:00am – 3:30pm = 35 hrs.

Assist in developing appropriate person-centered behavioral supports to increase and maintain functional behaviors, and design interventions to prevent or limit challenging behaviors as well as to monitor the use of specific interventions that limit rights or have adverse potential adverse impacts. The Behavior Intervention Specialist is responsible for providing positive approaches, strategies, and supports to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Master’s Degree in a clinical or treatment field in Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Special Education, Applied Psychology as it relates to human development and clinical interventions AND documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan OR must have a BCBA and a Master’s degree  in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD OR must have a NYS license in Mental Health Counseling. Experience preferred in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plans.

Module Instructor – Westhampton Beach | East End, M-F, 8AM - 3:30PM = 35 hrs.

Under the supervision of the Program Administrator, an employee in this class is responsible for training and supervising individuals with Developmental Disabilities in a variety of day habilitation and vocational tasks while implementing their outcomes and goals. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, families, advocates, residential providers and individuals. Good organizational skills. Communicates clearly, accurately, and concisely both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED; Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.

Community Integration Specialist

Lakeland, Knickerbocker - M-F, 8AM - 3:30PM = 35 hrs.

*Lakeland (Ability to speak in Creole preferred) *

Under the direct supervision of the Day Habilitation Supervisor, an employee of this class is responsible for assisting and training in the areas of communication, life skills, social behaviors, personal skills, health care, and promoting self reliance to the extent possible.

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED; Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.

EDUCARE

Music Teacher - Monday – Friday = (Part Time) 

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to instruct students with multiple disabilities in the area of music and develop a program designed to enhance the classroom curriculum with movement to music activities for 10 hours per week. Develop age-appropriate lesson plans, conduct group lessons, and utilize a variety of musical mediums to reach each student’s needs. Work with program staff, including the Education coordinator and Building administrator to assist with program events.

Minimum Qualifications:

A New York State teaching certification in the area of music or the equivalent of a two-year college degree or 60 college credits, of which at least half are in the field of music or educationally related courses. Experience with providing children with movement to music activities and playing a keyboard. A validate New York State driver license.

COMMUNITY RESIDENCES (IRA)

IRA Registered Nurse – Part-Time = 28 hrs.

Performs professional nursing services for individuals we support in AHRC Community Residence Program, performs related work as required. Under the clinical supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, and the overall supervision of the Director of the program, an employee in this class performs nursing services involving the responsibility for basic first aid, administering of medication and participation in training programs within the agency structure.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from a recognized School of Nursing and a New York State License. Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.

INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITY

Nurse (Preferred RN) – 2 Openings

(2) Tuesday - Saturday, 1:30pm – 10:00pm = 40 hrs.

Under the direction of the Supervising Nurse, the ICF Nurse provides the appropriate medical/nursing care required to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled population; performs work as requested. An employee of this class is responsible for providing the direct nursing care to the program individuals who reside in an assigned ICF building.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Registered Professional Nursing License, or NYS Licensed Practical Nurse License. Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.

House Manager - M-F 40 hrs. (Flexible Schedule/ includes some weekends and evenings/ On-call)

Under the immediate supervision of the Building Administrator, an employee in this class manages the operation of an AHRC ICF. This individual ensures that the health and well-being of the individuals is maintained, manages a household budget, supervision of relief staff and direct care staff, supervision of diets and nutritional needs of individuals, meal preparation, light housecleaning, record keeping, individual service plans, attending team meetings, family/community relations, ensures the scheduling of medical and dental appointments, coordination of leisure activities for the individuals, administration of medication in conformance with State regulations, trains and evaluates staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED and one year experience in working with the population; American Red Cross First Aid Training Certification and Fire Safety Training in an OPWDD approved course within the first three (3) months of employment.

Assistant House Manager Position

An employee in this class is responsible to assist the House Manager’s of the Westhampton ICF and Mount Sinai IRA over see each program. A flexible 32 hour work schedule is required which will include weekends and holidays. The Assistant House Manager will ensure that all needs of the individuals are met in the absence of the House Manager. Previous experience working in the field of intellectual disabilities is preferred.
